What a Fabulous Weekend!

And it really was: the best pride weekend I've had in years. It was great meeting a bunch of new people, and seeing old friends that I met last year.

I'd like to give a big thank you to Dan, for organizing the Summit on Friday night. Thank you also Kalvin & JR, for the get-together on Saturday night, and to Nick and Jake for the brunch on Sunday morning.

And now, for a few pictures. First, from Friday night:

And from Sunday:

And last, but certainly not least, is this fellow:

That other picture of him is not going to go on this blog, but if anyone wants it (and I know you all do), just let me know.

It's Here!

Enough work, time to have fun.

Happy Pride!

Thanks to Kelly Stern for above photograph.

I Lied

I have a confession to make.

I lied.

I posted this picture of actorschmactor and myself, taken on May 31:

This picture misrepresents Kevin's true height. I'm only 6'5". I'm a little sensitive about appearing next to taller people, so I asked Kevin to scrunch down for the above picture.

Here is a picture that represents our true relative heights.

It's true. Kevin is, indeed, seven feet tall.

My apologies to all my readers for my deception.

San Jose Pride Pics

(I love my telephone lens)

San Jose Gay Pride

Today is San Jose Gay Pride. I'm going to leave in a bit to watch the parade, which (unlike San Francisco) will probably last only 20 minutes or so. The post-parade festival lasts all day.

I was talking to my friend JB about this last week. On Thursday, he went to check out the website, and that evening he called and asked "Do you know you're on the San Jose Gay Pride website?"

Rainbow Recreation is a San Jose-area gay men's sports/activities club. I marched with them last year, the first time I'd ever marched in a gay pride parade.

I guess I really am out, aren't I?

Happy Pride!

Back from Orlando

Well, I'm back from Orlando. Actually, I got in last night, but not until late, as my plane was delayed for two hours in Dallas.

But aside from that (and tropical storm Barry), the trip went well. The Grosvenor was very nice, very convenient, and though there was a lot of construction going on, none of it impacted me.

I had a really good time going to Pleasure Island, the Disney nightclub "island", virtually every night. The best night was Thursday night, as I got to meet Kevin aka actorschmactor:

Kevin's a great guy, and we had a lot of fun, first hanging out at the Adventurer's Club with the friends I was traveling with. After an hour or so, we finished off the evening with some dancing at the '70s/'80s dance club, 8-Trax.

And now for various other highlights from the trip, starting with a shot of a recreated San Francisco at MGM Studios
What's that on the street sign?

Heh.

Saturday was the big day, where everyone puts on red shirts and goes to the Magic Kingdom.

In general, I preferred the rollercoasters over, say, Ellen DeGeneres's Universe of Energy.
Interesting note: Disney tracks the time it takes guests to traverse the line for a ride by handing these electronic cards to random people as they enter a line, and then taking them as they get on the ride. Guess which computer geek got a card?
Here I am near the end of the day at the Magic Kingdom.

Wait a minute: what's that on my shirt?

Have you got yours yet? GSB2 is only two weeks away!
