Well, I'm back from Orlando. Actually, I got in last night, but not until late, as my plane was delayed for two hours in Dallas.
But aside from that (and tropical storm Barry), the trip went well. The Grosvenor was very nice, very convenient, and though there was a lot of construction going on, none of it impacted me.
I had a really good time going to Pleasure Island, the Disney nightclub "island", virtually every night. The best night was Thursday night, as
I got to meet Kevin aka
actorschmactor:
Kevin's a great guy, and we had a lot of fun, first hanging out at the
Adventurer's Club with the friends I was traveling with. After an hour or so, we finished off the evening with some dancing at the '70s/'80s dance club, 8-Trax.
And now for various other highlights from the trip, starting with a shot of a recreated San Francisco at
MGM StudiosWhat's that on the street sign?
Heh.
Saturday was the big day, where everyone puts on red shirts and goes to the
Magic Kingdom.
In general, I preferred the rollercoasters over, say,
Ellen DeGeneres's Universe of Energy.
Interesting note: Disney tracks the time it takes guests to traverse the line for a ride by handing these electronic cards to random people as they enter a line, and then taking them as they get on the ride. Guess which computer geek got a card?
Here I am near the end of the day at the Magic Kingdom.
Wait a minute: what's that on my shirt?
Have you got yours yet? GSB2 is only two weeks away!
